about me

I was born and raised in Charlotte, NC, and I've been doing art ever since I could hold a pencil. As a little kid, I dreamed of being a painter, as an adult, I work in tech, but still continue to hold onto my childhood dreams and paint as a hobby. Most of my artwork is in acrylic paint, and my favorite artists growing up were Da Vinci, Dali, and Van Gogh.

Art to me is like a personal diary: when words fail, I express myself through art, and I've done that my whole life. I've always loved art because, as cliché as it sounds, a picture is worth a thousand words, and those thousand words can be whatever you want them to be. I take a lot of inspiration from music, movies, love and relationships, my own experiences, as well as others.

For me I love the creative process. I love listening to demos of songs to compare to the finished version. I love watching behind-the-scenes videos of movies and TV shows because the idea of pulling back the curtain is fascinating to me. Usually, we see the final product of most things, but I love exploring the how, why, what it means, etc. I feel like that doesn't get talked enough in art, or we at least don't always have the opportunity to do so, which is why this online portfolio is also a blog in a way about each piece I create.
