This piece is a satirical take on love and dating in the form of a newspaper.
The satire phrases and questions are a reflection on the pressure people face in the dating world. Where is this going? Will I ever find Mr. or Mrs. Right? The string of questions is a parallel on the innocent questions you ask while you're on a first date with someone but eventually those types of questions can have underlining tones for more serious questions that come up when you do progress in a relationship.
Often these questions can be introspective, interrogative, and even toxic at times. They are questions we are afraid to ask but will eventually come up when you're dating someone.
We feel the pressure from our friends who are already in committed relationships, family members, and society, constantly feeling like we're running out of time or on someone else's schedule.
Other inspiration for this piece comes from the cartoons published by The New Yorker.
Sometimes love makes us feel like we're on top of the world. And other times it can make us feel like we're Jack Nicholson in The Shining slowly losing our minds.
"All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy"
-The Shining, 1980
